It's a fairly easy class to take your freshman year as a quest 1 course - it's about 250 words per week for a discussion post as well as 2 replies to your peers' posts, which is based on that week's reading. There are two larger essays that are due throughout the semester, the latter of which is your final, but as long as you have evidence for all of your thoughts, they should be an easy B at least. This class isn't something you're gonna spend that much of your time on, maybe 1-3 hours every week depending on how fast of a writer you are. Say a few words every class period, make sure your posts aren't complete garbage, and work on your essays as best you can, and you can easily score an A in Good Life!
I'm a STEM major so I don't think it was particularly useful for me professionally, but it's an interesting class that explores what we value in society and how other people might try to find the "Good Life." It's a good class if you're thinking of going down the liberal arts field, especially philosophy and things like that.
You'll never meet your professor, just your TA once a week. My TA was lovely, so I had a good time my semester! I haven't heard anything terrible about the other TAs though, just slight differences in grading styles.
There isn't a textbook per-say but sometimes they will require you to read books/plays that are not given within the module. DON'T waste your money and buy the books every time; instead just find online pdfs. This also makes it a lot easier to find specific quotes you want by using control F. Secondly, make some in-person friends! It'll make your life so much easier, especially if you're feeling stuck on a prompt and need someone to help you brainstorm!

Incredibly boring but mostly annoying. Be prepared to hear awful opinions on absolutely anything and everything, including race and eugenics! How fun!

Good Life is really dumb and I don't understand the role of this class in the life of a student and why UF thinks it's so important for every freshman to take.
Read lots of philosophical condescending articles, poems, short stories, and a novel. None of it very entertaining or useful. Interpreting these feels like making up nonsense until the professor agrees.
I didn't have a TA. Lynne Clark is pretty good at encouraging discussion and she grades fairly. Expect to be satisfied with a 29/30 on every single discussion post.
You actually have to read the texts :(
Depends on your TA, luckily my honors section was TA-less.

Horribly boring. Avoid if you can and take a different quest course. Everything is useless busy work and the TAs are awful
Don't take this class
